Back to the Garden

Picture
There's no telling what musical inspirations might bear fruit once you plant some of BC's most talented artists and performers together on the fertile soil of Campbell River's Tidemark Theatre stage for a West Coast Roots Music Celebration.
Master Gardener Daniel Lapp, with help from the Vancouver Island MusicFest's Doug Cox, guarantees a bountiful harvest of creative, organic collaborations and unique, cross-pollinations to welcome you Back to the Garden.
I spoke with Lapp and Cox about the artists, their music and what magic to expect.

Blackie and the Rodeo Kings

Picture
They've been called a "super group" of roots rock. Their harmonies and guitar work evoke memories of The Band, but that's just scratching the surface of Blackie and the Rodeo Kings (BARK), a one-of-a-kind blending of folk, blues and rock.
They've just released their new album South, and they're coming to Campbell River's Tidemark Theatre February 13th to share it with you.

I reached Stephen Fearing in Toronto just before the South tour started. You can listen to our chat below.
